Alligator Jesus x Showroom II Pop- up at The Delphi hotel

This past Wednesday night, the Delphi Hotel, in collaboration with Happening in DTLA , became the stage where Alligator Jesus and Showroom II  unleashed their latest pop-up on an unsuspecting city.

There was a sea of style junkies itching to get their chompers cast in silver by the grills master Alligator Jesus. Inside, it was sensory overload. DJ Survivors.Guilt  (Haley Bowman to her mom) was on the decks, serving up beats that had even the most jaded fashion editors involuntarily head-nodding.( Yours truly included – despite my usual dead inside facade, I soon found myself in the thick of it, dancing with a crew of equally entranced scenesters.)

Showroom II’s curator, the enigmatic Elle Vahn, gave us the grand tour, yelling over a bassline that threatened to swallow her whole. Elle has opened two showrooms in the last four months, with the aim of celebrating LA’s local talent and Femme forward brands with the help of her partner & Creative Director of Showroom II Bear Campbell.

As I was looking around the showroom I thought “This isn’t just clothes, It’s LA’s design underground, raw and unfiltered.”

The pop-up read like a who’s who of the city’s most unhinged creatives. Garbage and Glitter,  Zhilyova, Elizabeth Micheals, Cas & Krera, Azoatelier, Studio Blackbird, Jungle Tribe LA, Planet Disco, Mouthwateringbleach, Bank and Shutter, Six Lives, Horrific Designs, and Telly Bowie – each name a battle cry against the bland and boring. From deconstructed streetwear to pieces that looked ripped from a cyberpunk fever dream, every item screamed “Wear me if you dare’ energy.

Alligator Jesus, of course, had his own jewelry there. His ski masks in trippy colorways were the cherry on top – perfect for your next bank heist or avant-garde gallery opening.

These girlies fits and makeup slayed. Love the heart on her nose!

I met this chick who said she was scrolling through Etsy, hunting for grillz, when her friend stopped her dead in her tracks: “No way, babe. You need to DM Alligator Jesus—he’s the king of grills.” So, she hit him up, and he told her to swing by his pop-up to get her teeth molded. She was absolutely buzzing, and couldn’t wait to see the results.

As the night stretched on and inhibitions faded, it became clear: this wasn’t just a pop-up—it was a full-blown rally for the sartorially disenfranchised of Los Angeles.

Alligator Jesus and Showroom II weren’t just pushing boundaries; they were pretending those boundaries never existed in the first place.

So, put your money where your mouth is and snag a new grill and fit. Head over to the Delphi Hotel—the pop-up runs until October, Thursday to Saturday, from noon to 6 p.m.

Miss this, and you might as well admit you’re dead inside.
